10 February 2015, Dubai, UAE: Shamiana and Santino’s, two quick service restaurant brands owned by leading UAE-based food services company, Hotbrands International (HBI) will participate in the forthcoming Dubai Food Carnival, which is part of the Dubai Food Festival, with a variety of dishes representing the best of Indian street food and Italian cuisine.
Shamiana and Santino’s, popular with foodies in the UAE and region for their authentic ethnic food concepts , will be having separate stalls at Dubai Food Carnival, the food extravaganza for families, which will be held at Dubai International Marina Club from 12-14 February. Whilst Shamiana (stand RS – 1A) is famous in the region for their kebabs and curries, however they will be using the Carnival to showcase their newly launched Indian street snacks, amongst other family favourites, whilst Santino’s (stand RS – 12A) will offer Italian pizza and freshly tossed pasta.
Cheryle Treanor a spokesperson for HBI, said: “This is the second year of the Dubai Food Festival initiative and Hotbrands International is excited to be a part of not only the Festival, which runs from the 6th – 28th February, but also the Carnival, which was a great success in its inaugural year. It is such a vibrant gourmet experience, which is spread across three days and is a perfect event for foodies and families alike. Our ethnic food dishes will add to the carnival’s growing culinary culture and we invite lovers of Indian cuisine to live the authentic street food experience at our Shamiana stall while those with a penchant for Italian cuisine can head to our Santino’s stand for some delicious pizza slices and tossed pasta with home-made sauces.”
HBI opened its first outlet in Dubai 23 years ago, and has now grown to more than 50 outlets in the GCC, India and United States. HBI is particularly well known for its Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) format. Currently, HBI’s QSR concepts include Shamiana (Indian cuisine), Magic Wok (Chinese), Santino’s (Italian), Sala Thai (Thai) and Sugoi! (Japanese), which reflect the flavours and cultures of the countries they represent. Its Casual Dining Restaurant (CDR) concept features Haru, which serves Japanese Robatayaki cuisine. HBI has also opened its first Fast Casual Restaurant (FCR) concept, Wok Chi, which serves Chinese cuisine, in the United States.
